The ‘Enterprise Sri Lanka’ Exhibition organized by the Ministry of Finance with the objective of creating 100,000 new entrepreneurs, commences in the Muttraveli area near the Jaffna Fort, today.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe will be the chief guest.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 9 am to 12 midnight, and will be underway until the 10th of this month.
The main sponsors are: Bank of Ceylon, People’s Bank, the National Lotteries Board and the Development Lotteries Board.
The objective of the Exhibition is to empower various entrepreneurships indigenous to the Northern Province.
Thereby, concessionary loans can be obtained to begin new business endeavours in the fields of agriculture, industries, fisheries and tourism.
Eleven special cubicles will be open, for state and private banks and state institutions that provide business advisory services. Instructions and guidelines will be given for those engaged in self-employment and small and medium scale entrepreneurships, to obtain credit facilities.
In addition, those who visit the exhibition will get the opportunity to purchase items on sale at affordable prices. Significantly, garments produced at factories under the Board of Investment can be purchased at duty free prices, at the exhibition.
A special clinic and laboratory service will be conducted by the Ministry of Health, whilst the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will conduct consular services.
