Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe says, those who “now” pledge to improve the education of the country, did not do so when they were in power, as they did not have the competency to do so!

The government’s objective is to increase the allocations for the education sector, to 6 per cent of the Gross Domestic Production.

Speaking at a ceremony to vest the newly constructed technology building and pavilion with the students of the Irukkalampidy Muslim Maha Vidyalaya, the Premier challenged anyone who can say that they are able to bring about more development than the development brought about so far in the education sector.
He said, is prepared to debate the matter.
