The ‘Budu-Puth Maapiya Suraksha’ Initiative launched by the Ministry of Buddha Sasana, to construct houses for low-income-earnings parents of Bhikkus, begins on Monday (16/9/2019).

This initiative is being launched as the second stage of the ‘Sasana Suraksha’ Programme.
Under the first stage, the ‘BuduPuth Suraksha’ Health Insurance Scheme was launched last June.

Minister of Buddhist Religious Affairs, Gamini Jayawickrema Perera has instructed the Committees on Sasana Related Affairs – which are the Shaasanaarakshaka Bala Mandala – to identify low-income-earning parents of Bhikkus resident at Viharayas across the Island, and forward the details to the Ministry of Buddha Sasana.
