SriLankan Engineering begins the certification of Boeing 787 aircraft

SriLankan Engineering – which is the Aircraft Maintenance Repair Overhaul Unit of SriLankan Airlines – has marked another milestone, with the commencement of the certification of the first B-787 aircraft, operated by Singapore Airlines to Malé in the Maldives.

The Airline in the past has provided certifications to various Airbus aircraft of Singapore Airlines in the Maldives, and this is the first time the National Carrier certified a Boeing 787.

Chief Executive Officer of SriLankan Airlines: Vipula Gunatilleka says, this signifies an expansion of the airline’s Maintenance Repair Overhaul services, which are much sought-after in the South Asian region.

SriLankan Engineering is accredited with several industry certifications of the highest recognized global standards, which include: EASA certifications for Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance and Engineering Workshops, and authorization to certify aircraft operating to the Bandaranaike International Airport and the Malé International Airport in the Maldives.
