The ballot papers for postal voting in the Presidential Election are to be handed over to the Department of Posts, for distribution, today(18/10/2019).
The total number of public officials and military personnel who are eligible to cast postal votes are: 659,514.
The Election Secretariat says, distribution activities will be carried out at district level, under tight security.

Postal voting will take place on the 31st of October and the 1st of November, whilst the 4th of November has been set aside for police personnel and officials at district secretariats and at the election office to cast their postal votes. Those who fail to cast their postal votes on both given dates, can alternatively cast their postal votes on the 7th of next month.

Meanwhile, Police Media Spokesperson: SP Ruwan Gunasekera says, a special security plan will be in force around post offices, when ballot papers for postal voting are being distributed.
