Trump likens conflict in Syria to a ‘playground fight’ ! Senate Majority Leader attacks Trump on Syria

US President Donald Trump has compared the deadly conflict between Turkish forces and Kurds in north-eastern Syria to a fight between children!

At a rally held in Texas, Mr Trump had reportedly said that like two kids in a lot, they need to be allowed to fight, and then they should be pulled apart!

Turkey has agreed to a US request to suspend operations, so long as Kurdish fighters leave the border area; however, fighting appeared to continue even yesterday, despite a denial by Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Meanwhile, the US Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell has attacked President Donald Trump’s policy in Syria.
Recently, Mr Trump described the Turkey-Syria border situation as “strategically brilliant” for the US.
In a Washington Post opinion piece, Mitch McConnell says, Mr Trump’s troop withdrawal order, combined with Turkey’s Syria assault, was a “strategic nightmare”!
