Presidential hopeful of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna: Gotabhaya Rajapaksa says, his intention is to create a “prosperous country”, whilst eradicating corruption.
His election manifesto – based upon a 10-fold set of principles – was unveiled yesterday.
The 80-page manifesto details his vision for the next 5 years.
It gives prominence to national security, and also speaks of a friendly and non-aligned foreign policy, clean governance, and constitutional amendments that are accountable to the public.
In addition, it also contains points on topics such as: “a productive citizen”, “an active human resource”, “a people centric economy” and “a society based on technology”.
Meanwhile, Parliamentarian Ranjith Siyambalapitiya says, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party can fully endorse the election manifesto of the Presidential Candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. He points out, it is an ideal document for the two parties to proceed on a joined path, based on similar policies.
Speaking at a media briefing held yesterday, the MP said, his party will extend its support for the victory of Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, and for the implementation of the points pledged in the manifesto.
