SriLankan Airlines will operate flights to the newly opened Jaffna International Airport, soon.

Speaking to the media, after the Sri Lanka Tourism WTM Press Conference held this week, Group Chief Executive Officer of SriLankan Airlines: Vipula Gunatilleka said, SriLankan plans to lease smaller aircraft for this operation, whilst the airline will include Jaffna as a “stopover destination”, when operating flights to some of the Indian destinations.
He further stated, the opening of the Jaffna International Airport was a step taken in the right direction.

Mr Gunatilleka also stated, the Australian route to Melbourne was also profitable, and they will soon add Sydney to their network.
