The JVP notes, the citizens have not been able to elect a leadership that suites the country, so far.
Speaking to the Subharathee Discussion Programme aired over the SLBC this morning, JVP Parliamentarian Sunil Handunnetti highlighted the need, to pass into law, the Manifesto put forward by the National People’s Power, under the title: ‘The Aspirations of the Nation’.
He added, the Manifesto was compiled in consultation with experts in a number of fields.
He observed, although the country shows a high literacy rate, the people do not seem to have the intellect to elect a suitable leader.
He noted, for the country to ascend on to a higher platform, it is imperative to put a stop to wastage and corruption.
He noted, the country is in debt, 12 times more than its assets.
