Mahinda Rajapakse will be sworn-in as the new Prime Minister of Sri Lanka today.

Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakse will be sworn-in as the new Prime Minister, before President Gotabhaya Rajapakse, at the Presidential Secretariat, at 1.00pm today. He will assume duties at the Prime Minister’s Office, at 3.00pm.

The new Cabinet of Ministers is also set to be sworn-in, today.

Meanwhile, party leaders’ meeting is scheduled to be held this morning at the parliamentary complex. Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayaka has instructed the relevant officials to invite the leader of all political parties representing the parliament to be present at 11.00 am this morning. This meeting is coenvened by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.
