The Lanka Samasamaja Party says that an economic crisis in the country was prevented with the appointment of Gotabhaya Rajapaksa as the President. During a media briefing in Colombo today, leader of the party professor Thissa Vitharana said that the lost sovereignty and freedom of the country can be a regained according to the manifesto of the president. He pointed out, the plan of president Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is to maintained relations with powerful and developed countries in the world while protecting independence of the country. Professor Vitharana said that the aim of the president is to increase export income of the country to develop the economy. Deputy Secretary of the party Anil Soysa said that they will be committed to take forward the concepts of the president for a new country.
