The Disaster Management Centre says that 5415 persons of 1480 families have been affected due to adverse weather. Over 600 people have been sent to 8 safe places. They will be provided with relief. Financial provisions up to 2.5 million rupees will be granted for house damaged. The Centre says that sluice gates at reservoirs of Rajanganaya, Thabbowa, Pangamuwa, Deduruoya, Inginimitya, Udawalawa, Ebbankattuwa, Nachciyaduuwa and remain open. Assistant Director of the disaster management centre Pradeep Koddipili syas that landslide warning issued in respect of the districts of Rathnapura, Badulla, Nuwaraeliya, Kegalla and Kandy is still valid. He requests the people in these districts to be vigilant on about landslides signs.
