President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has issued instructions to the public servants to take all necessary actions immediately for the protection and welfare on the people in disaster situations. They must work in coordination with the Ministry of defence and the Disaster Management centre in the face of disasters. Accordingly, instructions through circulars, have been issued to take immediate measures to mitigate disasters, to create the environment that will enable responding without delay and the welfare of the affected people. The coordination and the review of these activities will be conducted under the leadership of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
