Leader of the Jathika Nidahas Peramuna Minister Wimal Weerawansa says that they will contest the forthcoming general election based on the agreements at the presidential election. Speaking to media after paying homage to sacred tooth relic at Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, he said that they have agreed to contest the general election under a common alliance. Minister Wimal Weerawansa visited the Mahanayakas of Malwathu and Asgiri chapters today and received their blessings. Thereafter, speaking to media he said that local industries were neglected during the time of the previous administration. The policy of the new government is to develop the local industries to develop the country. Minister Wimal Weerawansa emphasizes that all industries including Walachchenai Paper factory and Pulmudai Mineral Sands Industry that are not functioning in the North and East will be recommenced before the general election.
