State Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena says that a decision has been taken to appoint a special presidential commission to look into the political victimization during the past inquiries will be made to find out whether the officials who conducted investigations on the politically victimized officials, acted under the influence of a 3rd party or they have abused their power. State Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said that inquiries will be made on the officials who abused their power and recommendations will be made on the steps to be taken. He was speaking during a media briefing yesterday at the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology. Speaking further, the State Minister said that the commission will recommend the measures to be taken within next 6 weeks. He further said that the government took steps to regulate imported goods with the aim of protecting and encouraging minor export crop cultivators and small and medium scale industrialists.
