The Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies states, an Annular Solar Eclipse can be observed from Sri Lanka, on Boxing Day – which is the day following Christmas.
If the weather is permitting, the annular phase of this solar eclipse will be visible in Saudi Arabia, southern India, the northern parts of Sri Lanka, and parts of Indonesia.
Those in Europe, parts of Asia, and the southern parts Sri Lanka will witness a Partial Solar Eclipse.
Both the Partial and Annular phases of the eclipse will be first witnessed on the Delft Islands at 8.08am and 9.33am, on the 26th of December.
The Annular phase will last only 2 minutes and 40 seconds over the mainland of Sri Lanka. During the maximum Annular phase over the Sri Lankan mainland, the moon will cover approximately 93 per cent of the Sun
