Former Minister Patalee Champika Ranawaka further remanded until the 24th of this month
Former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka – who was produced before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court this morning – has been further remanded until the 24th of December.
He was produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate: Kanchanaa Neranjalaa De Silva, today.
The bail application filed by him was also rejected.
The Former Minister is accused of allegedly causing grievous injury to a person, by a rash and negligent act, and for switching drivers in a road traffic accident.
In 2016, the vehicle – in which the Former Minister Megapolis & Western Development was traveling in – had collided with a motorcycle, causing life-threatening injuries to its rider.
The injured youth was identified as Sandeepa Sampath, from the Godagama area.
