The Criminal Investigation Department yesterday recorded a statement from former Minister Rishard Badiudeen as part of the investigations being conducted into the Easter Sunday terror attacks that killed over 300 people.
A senior official of the CID said that the former Minister has arrived at the CID yesterday morning in compliance with an order issued by the court. He said former Minister Badiudeen was questioned and a lengthy statement recorded in connection with the incident. CID sleuths have found that several suicide bombers had stayed at a house in Enderamulla which allegedly belonged to a relative of the former Minister.
The CID officials are to record statements from former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Sri Lanka Muslim Congress Leader Rauff Hakeem in connection with the Easter Sunday terror attacks.
