Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi alleged that UNP will not have any future due to their mishandling, misuse of state power and judiciary during the so-called Yahapala regime. The voice recordings of Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake have clearly showed on how the UNP high rank group used the rule of law and judiciary system to eliminate the political opponents during the Yahapalana regime. This clearly shows that UNP which came to office in 2015 under the name of protecting the judicial independence, has completely destroyed the judicial system of Sri Lanka. The people of this country were ridiculed by this malpractice and it has brought a discredit to the legal system of this country. This has also created a suspicion in the minds of the common masses with regard to the legal system of the country. The UNP should take the full responsibility of this downfall of legal system of the country. Under this context the people of this country will definitely reject UNP in the forthcoming general election, Minister added. The Minister made these remarks at a function held in Colombo yesterday.
