A general amnesty period has been granted to the civil defense officers who have left the service at the Civil Security Department to report back to work before February 20.

The newly appointed Director General of Civil Security Department, Rear Admiral Ananda Peiris (Retired) said that officers who have completed 10 years of service will receive a pension.

Under the directives of the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa a week-long general amnesty has also been declared for tri-forces absentees. The general amnesty period will be in force for 7 days commencing from 05th February 2020.

Military personnel who left the service before 30 September 2019 will be able to re-join the service or legally resign before 12th February.
