Around 180 constructions completed under the ‘Pibidemu Polonnaruwa’ project will be vested with the public tomorrow. Thereby, the Medirigiriya Bus Terminal, the Medirigiriya Irrigation Management Unit, the Renal Diseases Treatment Unit and Clinic at the Hingurakgoda District Hospital, together with many buildings constructed in several schools will be declared open. In addition, to the two storied building constructed as a Bhikku Hostel at the Pulasthigama Siri Perakum Pirivena will also be declared open.
At a press briefing held at the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Executive Member of the SLFP Young Professionals Association: Rajitha Kodituwakku said, 180 people-centric projects that were launched in the Polonnaruwa District will be vested with the public tomorrow.
He further stated, during the previous regime, projects were launched not to meet with the requirements of the people, but to cater to the whims and fancies of the rulers.
He highlights, now, development projects are for the people.
Commenting on the forthcoming Provincial Council Elections he said, the elections cannot be held according to the old system. Therefore, in order to conduct the election, it is necessary to pass the new Provincial Councils Election Bill in Parliament.
He called to mind, it is the ‘politician’ himself, who destroyed the economy of the country. He added, those who yell about selling public assets, do not speak about assets that were given out to foreigners, when they were in power.
