Colombo Magistrate Court remands the brother of former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen until 6th of next month

The Colombo Magistrate Court remands Rifkhan Bathiudeen, the brother of Former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen, until the 6th of February.

The suspect was arrested by the CID yesterday for allegedly selling forged deeds for a land plot of 78 acres in Mannar to a company called capital city, for a price of nearly 50 million rupees.

Mawanella Magistrate Court, meanwhile, ordered to remand 28 suspects until the 3rd of February. The suspects are charged with de-facing Buddha statues in Mawanella 2 years ago. They were produced today to the court with 2 others who are on bail.
