Sri Lankan students in China have commenced arriving in the country. Sri Lankan embassy in China said that 21 students left this afternoon to Sri Lanka from Tianjin. The Presidential Secretariat, Foreign Relations Ministry Health Ministry, Sri Lankan Embassy in China and Sri Lankan Airlines are working together to bring down the students. Students are being brought to the airport from various regions including Sichuan. The 30 students at Nanning will be added to the group. The ban on entering Wuhan has not been lifted and discussions are being held with the chines government to bring down the students. Sri Lankan Airlines is giving of 50 per-cent discount for tickets for the students. The facility can be obtained through the hot line of the Sri Lankan Airline. Opportunity has been given to use a third party credit card when making payments through credit cards. Details of the students have been gathered. A task force consisted of specialists has been appointed by the health Ministry on the instructions of the president. The committee is scheduled to meet today under the patronage of health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi.

The government has taken all necessary steps to face the present situation. Views are exchanged constantly with the students. Instructions have been given for the students who have arrived in the country took keep observing their body temperature and to undergo necessary tests. It has been found that it will take a period of 20 days for the symptoms to appear. Therefor the students who have arrived in the country have been requested the wear mouth masks until that period is over.
