The Government Medical Officer’s Association says that, there is no change of the planned island wide strike tomorrow. The two main demands of the Association is to increase a present monthly allowance of 35 thousand rupees to 100 thousand rupees and to get national schools for their children according to their choice. Among the other demands are imposing a tax of 24 percent according to the income of professionals, not signing the Singapore Free Trade Agreement and getting assistance to prepared allowances and policies. Expressing his views senior journalist Kusal Perera said that, the time has come for the public to set up hospital committees against medical mafia.
