Sri Lanka grabbed many benefits following the Indian tour of the Prime Minister

State Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardhana says that the country has received many benefits following the Indian tour of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse. He said that security cooperation between the two countries enhanced due to the tour. Discussion s were held on fisheries, housing construction, community facilities, tourism industry and on several other important sectors. He said this during a media briefing in Colombo last morning. The Indian government was requested to delay debt payments on behalf of the public. The state minister said that the government has to pay 480 billion rupees of debt this year. He pointed out that it will be easy to pay the debt instalments by strengthening the economy of the country. He said that 7000 billion rupees of debt have been taken during the time of the previous government.

State Minister Lakshma Yapa Abeywardhana said that it will not be possible to prevent the division of the united national party. He said that a committed has been appointed examine the qualifications of those who were recruited on contract basis during the previous government and to extend their services.
