The new chairman of SLBC Jagath Wickremasinghe says that he is committed to make the state radio station a noble and high standard media institution.

Musician, Visharadha Jagath Wickramasinghe is the new chairman of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation. He assumed duties this morning. Mr.Jagath Wickramasinghe addressing the staff of the SLBC said that he will be committed to make the state radio station a noble and high standard media institution. Priority will be given to the targets that have to being achieved within the corporation. The national radio is the pioneering broadcaster in the country. It is attached a responsible of national and international. The new chairman said that it is his wish to organize and broadcast programmes in a way that justice is done to all citizens irrespective of race religion or cultural differences. He pledged to introduce a new journey aligned with the national, cultural and arts promotion with the support of resourceful artistes and employees of the corporation.

Director General of the SLBC Chandrapala Liyanage said that a matured communication order will be introduced to the country through new creations and planning.
Members of the Maha Sanga, artistes and several prominent invitees were present on the occasion.
