Two more discussions between the UNP and the new alliance will be held today

A discussion between the United National party and the New Alliance headed by the leader of the opposition Sajith Premadasa will be held at the parliamentary complex today to find a settlement  to the crisis between the two parties.   Representatives of the two parties are confident that a formal decision on the symbol of the new alliance can be arrived at on Monday.  Addressing a news conference held at the UNP headquarters, Sirikotha MP professor Ashu Marasinghe said that the United National party will contest at the forthcoming general election only under the symbol of the elephant.  He said that approval of the working committee is required to join in an another party or to offer the party’s symbol
