Wildlife Conservation Department has decided to stop issuing tickets on Sundays by 2.00 pm to visitors at Horton Plains. Accordingly, the caretaker of the National Park G.K.M.P. Pradeep Kumara says issuing of tickets for the National Park from the main entrances at Ohiya and Pattipola will be carried out from 6.00 am to 2.00 pm. He further said this decision was reached taking into consideration the time constrains and the distances where visitors have to travel within the park to enjoy sites such as World’s End and Baker’s Falls. He also added that time limitations were also considered to give animals freedom to roam the park after 6.00 pm. It is reported over 500,000 visitors come annually to enjoy the flora and fauna in the park.
