The First Sri Lankan tested positive for coronavirus has been found in Italy.
The Ministry of Foreign relations says that a 46-year-old Sri Lankan female in Italy has been tested positive for COVID-19. She is hospitalized in Brescia, located in the northern Italian region of Lombardy, and is reportedly in a stable condition. The Foreign relations Ministry in coordination with the Sri Lanka Embassy in Rome and the Consulate General Office in Milan has been closely monitoring and coordinating efforts to ensure the safety of Sri Lankans residing in Italy, following the recent rise of COVID-19 cases, particularly in the Lombardy Region.
