The novel coronavirus has killed 3,200 people, the vast majority in mainland China. According to China’s National Health Commission, another 38 people died as of the end of yesterday, bringing the death toll in mainland China to 2,981. There are now over 92,000 global cases, with infections in more than 70 countries and territories. US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that nine people have died from coronavirus in the United States and 125 have been infected. New Zealand Ministry of Health reported a second case of the novel coronavirus today. South Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed one new death from the coronavirus the 32nd patient to die in the country. Japan has confirmed 17 new coronavirus infections, bringing the national total to 991 cases whilst Iran passes 2300 reported cases of the virus.
