International flights are due to begin from Ratmalana Airport from the second week of next month. Chairman of the Airport and Aviation Services Limited Major General G.A. Chandrasiri chaired a discussion in this regard at the airport premises. Later, he told the SLBC the provision of the facilities required for international flight services came under discussion. He also said those facilities would be in place in accordance with the plans of the President and the Prime Minister to make all local airports profitable. Several airlines have already expressed willingness to start international flights to Ratmalana Airport.
