Maximum retail price declared for Mai-soor Dhal, Big Onions and Canned Fish.

The price of big onions has decreased with the arrival of imported big onions from India in to the market. Lak SATHOSA Chief Executive officer Dushmantha Thotawatte said that they have received the big onions imported from India. The Lak SATHOSA sells a kilo gram of big onions for 150 rupees. A tin of Salmon is sold for 100 rupees and a kilo gram of dhal is sold for 65 rupees. SATHOSA outlets are opened from 8 am to 8 pm.

Chairman of the Dambulla special economic center Ekanayake said that they received a large stocks of agriculture produce to the center today, but only few traders had arrived to purchase the goods. Therefore he said that the price of vegetables remained at low prices. Agricultural produce such as red onions and potatoes from Jaffna are being sent to the Dambulla Economic center at present. A Kilo gram of Jaffna potatoes is between 70 and 80 rupees at the Dambulla Economic center.
