Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera says, investigations into more than 120 cases of Fraud and Corruption that took place in the recent past, have been completed and forwarded to the Attorney General’s Department.
Speaking at a media briefing held at Sirikotha today he said, now it is the function of the Attorney General’s Department, to peruse the dossiers and proceed with the next course of action.
He emphasized, the present government was created upon an anti-corruption basis. Therefore, it regards fighting against corruption as its responsibility, and upholds this responsibility effectively.
The Deputy Minister also said, a proposal was passed at the parliamentary group meeting of the United National Front, for the salaries of Ministers and MPs not to be increased during the tenure of the present Parliament.
