Raids conducted to nab traders who sell rice at higher prices

The Consumer Affairs Authority says that raids were launched today to nab traders who sell goods at higher prices. The Gazette notification on maximum price for rice was published yesterday. Accordingly a kilogram of Nadu Rice can be sold for 90 rupees. A kilogram of white and red Kakulu is 85 rupees while a kilogram of Keeri Samba can be sold only for 125 rupees. The prices are effective from midnight yesterday. The government has announced maximum prices for rice to provide relief to the people affected by the pandemic.
