President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa met the Maha Nayake of Kotte Chapter Most Venerable Iththepaane Dhammalankara Thera and Archbishop His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith at the Presidential Secretariat this evening. The two religious dignitaries inquired the President regarding the present situation of the covid-19 outbreak. They commended the President’s and the government’s move being carried out to control the situation. The President expressed confidence that the curfew can be relaxed in the near future. The Maha Nayake Thera appeals the Buddhist people to engage in religious activities to mark the Vesak Festival at home. The Archbishop stressed the need to disclose the persons who are behind the Easter Sunday attacks. He also pointed out the need to stop hateful politics.
