150,000 metric tons of fertilizer will be given to farmers for cultivations in the ‘Yala’ Season

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the procurement of 150,000 metric tons of fertilizer to cultivate 523,000 hectares of land during the upcoming ‘Yala’ Season. Speaking at the media briefing Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Bandula Gunawardana said that an allocation of 10 billion rupees will be made for this purpose. The Cabinet has unanimously approved the provision of seeds, fertilizer and other financial allotments for cultivations. He added that small and medium scale rice millers will be provided with financial assistance as well.
