The South Korean military says at least four shots were fired from North Korea at a southern guard post near the military demarcation line today. No injuries were reported. The Joint Chiefs of Staff said the incident took place at around 7.41 am local time. After hearing the shots, a South Korean soldier found at least four bullets in the wall at the guard post. The South Korean military responded by issuing warning broadcasts and firing two bursts, or about 20 shots in total, toward the North. Visibility was low at the time due to thick fog, but no irregularities were observed on the northern side.
