The US government pledged continuous support to Sri Lanka to revitalize the economy during the post corona period.

US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Alaina B. Teplitz called on Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa this morning in Colombo. The Prime Minister’s Office says that they discussed several host issued including the corona virus combat and post corona economic challenges in Sri Lanka. The US envoy said the US government remains as a stead first partner with Sri Lanka. The Prime Minister requested for US assistance for Sri Lanka’s apparel sector. The Prime Minister pointed out that country’s major apparel companies are now manufacturing personal protective equipment to health meet global demand.

The Ambassador agreed to help Sri Lanka by connecting possible buyers from the US. She pledged to support the Sri Lanka’s SME’s to overcome this crisis situation.
