Japan’s Defence Minister: Itsunori Onodera visited Sri Lanka yesterday. It was the first time a Japanese Defence Minister visiting the island. The Embassy of Japan announced, the visiting Japanese Defence Minister will hold talks with State Minister of Defence: Ruwan Wijewardhene, on many areas of security concerns vial to the two countries. He is also due to meet Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe at Temple Trees today. The Japanese Defence Minister will hold bilateral talks with Sri Lankan Prime Minister on various matters including maritime security and sharing of technical knowhow on important sectors of development.
