President Gotabaya Rajapaksa says that agriculture in the country will be developed by solving the problems of the farmers and speedily addressing the issues pertaining to agriculture. Import of fertilizer has delayed since the relevant payments have not been arranged during the last days of the former regime. Joining the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna election campaign from Anuradhapura yesterday, he said that he will take every possible measure to enhance the livelihood of farmer community in Sri Lanka.
The President also attended several public gatherings in kalawewa and some other areas in the Anuradhapura district for the victory of the SLPP candidates contesting the upcoming general election.
Several SLPP candidates in the district including S.M. Chandrasena and Duminda Dissanayake were present at this occasion.
The president took part in a discussion this morning organized at the Thammannawa Nidahas Uyana in Thalawa by Minister S.M. Chandrasena.
