The United National Party has questioned the failure of government authorities to clearly communicate the possibility of a second wave of the coronavirus.
Speaking at a rally in Trincomalee leader of the UNP and Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said the government must be held responsible for the withdrawal of the Public Health Inspectors from COVID-19 mitigation efforts. The Former Prime Minister meanwhile questioned the basis of the government rejecting claims of a possible second wave, citing that other countries as well as the World Health Organisation have communicated the same.
