The annual Esala Perahara Festival of the historic Ruhunu Katharagama Maha Devalaya commences today. The final Randoli Perahara will parade the streets on the 3rd of next month. The festival will end on the following day with the water cutting ceremony in Manik Ganga in the early morning. Meanwhile, Diyawadana Nilame of Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy Nilanga Pradeep Dela said that the Kap planting ceremony of 4 Devalayas took place early morning today. The first Kumbal procession is scheduled to be held on Saturday. The final Randoli procession will parade the streets on the 3rd of next month. The processions will be conducted according to the health guidelines.
