An Archeological Advisory committee has been appointed. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse has appointed the committee with the aim of protecting archeological heritage. The committee is expected to give advice to the subject minister, to advice on special projects, policy compilation, inspecting of archeological places, development and promotion of such places. The committee is consisted of 20 members. Their letters of appointment were handed over today.
