The committee appointed to study the 20th amendment to the constitution is scheduled to handover its report tomorrow to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. The committee appointed by the Prime Minister is chaired by Minister Professor G.L. Peiris. Ministers Udaya Gammanpila, Ali Sabri and Nimal Siripala de Silva, State Ministers Susil Premajayantha and
S. Viyalendran, Parliamentarians Dilan Perera and Premanath
C. Dolawatta are other members of the committee. During a media briefing in Colombo today Minister G.L. Peiris said the committee extensively studied the amendment. He said that the report will be handed over to the Prime Minister tomorrow and to the Cabinet on Wednesday.
