A special religious function to mark the 71st anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, slated to be held on the 10th of October, will take place today at the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. The Army Media Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickramasinghe said the event will get underway under the patronage of Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva. The Brigadier said the function will be attended by representatives of all institutions relevant to the Sri Lanka Army. The Army Commander is expected to engage in other events including calling on differently abled veterans as well.
