President Gotabaya Rajapaksa says that Sri Lanka follows a neutral foreign policy as a country is situated at a strategic location. He said that priority will be given for development cooperation with mutual benefits. The President mentioned this when the new Ambassadors of Korea, Germany, Vatican and Switzerland handed over their credentials to the President. Speaking further on the occasion the President said that the country is open for foreign investments. Expressing his views about Sri Lanka’s police on the Indian Ocean, the President pointed out that it should be a free and open zone for all countries. The President recalled that it was Sri Lanka which first proposed about five decades ago to make the Indian Ocean, a peace zone. The President further said that the main hope of the people and the government after ending terrorism in 2009 was a speedy development of the country.
