Plans have been made to recite ‘Rathana Suthra’ from 6.30 to 7.30 pm today at all temples in the country. It has been organized by the ministry of cultural and religious affairs and Department of Buddhist affairs led by Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation. Reciting of Rathana Suthra will take place to minimize the impact of the corona virus and other problems which have an influence on civilian life. The SLBC will broadcast live the Rathana Suthra from Abhayaraamaya temple at Narahenpita in Colombo and Walukaramaya temple in Kollupitiya. The SLBC, Ministry of religious affairs and the department of Buddhist affairs requests all chief monks of the temples to relay the Rathana Suthra using loud speakers. Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation expects to broadcast the Rathana Suthra live for one week from 7 temples in the country. It will conclude on Vap Full Moon Poya day which falls on next Friday.
