Party Leaders are scheduled to convene at the Parliament premises this afternoon at 1.30pm under the patronage of Speaker of House Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana. The Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena said the manner in which Parliament operations will continue amidst the prevailing COVID-19 outbreak in the country will be discussed during the meeting. The Parliament re-opened and resumed operations after being disinfected due to a suspected case of corona virus. In the meantime Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has signed the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, which was passed by a two-thirds majority in Parliament recently. The amendment will come into force as a law only after it is signed by the Speaker.
