The efficiency of the police department has increased. When compared with the 2014, crimes have reduced by 35 percent in 2017. Solving crimes have increased by 20 percent. The Prime Minister said this while attending the 152nd police anniversary this afternoon at the Bambalapitiya police field force ground. The government hopes to maintain the supremacy of the law. The Prime Minister said that without law and order there is no stability in the country. He said the country will not develop without stability. Therefore, the law and order should be protected. The country should be happy to conduct the local government elections peacefully. The clash in Digana was an unfortunate incident. The Prime Minister said that lessons should be learnt from that clash. He said that the government would provide full support to the police.
