The Presidential Task Force for Economic revival and poverty elimination has decided to provide five thousand rupee cost of living allowance for the qualified people in Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara Districts which are under quarantine curfew. The program to provide the essential food sack valuing 10 thousand rupees to the homes of the people under quarantine at their homes and their contacts has begun. Chairman of the Task Force Basil Rajapakse said that the five thousand rupee allowance would be given to the families who do not get the food sack and for the families who have lost their livelihood due to quarantine curfew. He mentioned this during a discussion at the Temple Trees today on maintaining civilian life while distributing essential food and matters related to quarantine.
Mr Basil Rajapakse pointed out that a program to provide necessary facilities for the people under quarantine at their homes and their contacts should be implemented under the patronage of divisional secretariats to create a country without the corona virus. The support of Pradeshiya Sabha, Police, Regional health officers and village committees will also be obtained for the program.
